Why are omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids important?
They support the mother's fertility and the puppy's development (especially omega-3 DHA). They protect the joints, brain and heart of ageing dogs and cats; preventive support is always beneficial. The most important nutrient, in high concentration, for those suffering from osteoarthritis. Studies have shown that omega-3 fatty acids can reduce inflammation.
They support the recovery and endurance of sporting dogs from one performance to the next.

What is the difference between Nutrolin® OMEGA SENSITIVE and Nutrolin® products based on fish oil?
Nutrolin® OMEGA SENSITIVE completely replaces salmon and fish oil and contains the same omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids as the fish-oil-based Nutrolin® products. Unlike the fish-oil-based Nutrolin®, however, Nutrolin® OMEGA SENSITIVE contains no other nutrients apart from natural vitamin E.

How are algae oils produced?
Microalgae sit at the top of the ocean food chain. The omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids found in algae reach zooplankton first and then larger fish. Microalgae have also been grown successfully in closed, large-scale tanks on land. Oil with a very high omega-3 EPA and DHA content can be produced with precise fermentation methods, saving water and minimising the environmental impact. Very little processing is needed and no waste harmful to the environment is created. Oil made from microalgae is an ecological choice that reduces overfishing and thus protects marine ecosystems. The fish oils used in the traditional Nutrolin® products carry a marine-friendly certificate.
Nutrolin® OMEGA SENSITIVE™ is the greenest possible source of omega-3 EPA and DHA.

The patented Nutrolin® SKIN & COAT contains no fish oil. All other Nutrolin® products are based on fish-oil omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients that support their effect.

Why does SKIN & COAT contain no fish oil?
Because fish oil is not the best possible source of fatty acids for supporting the skin's natural protection.
